One Man, One Boat and the Greatest Survival Race in the World | Chapter 1 | Golden Globe Race

One man, one boat and the greatest survival race in the world.

Could you survive it? It’s the kind of question we preppers ask ourselves all the time. Just how grueling of a circumstance could you withstand? It’s a question former British Military man Ian Herbert Jones wondered too. Could he survive 300 days at sea, alone on a 35 foot sail boat with no gps, circumnavigating the world. Through the most difficult weather and waters? He knew there was only one way to find out.

The Golden Globe Race (GGR) is the longest endurance race on earth. The idea is simple: Depart from Les Sables-d’Olonne, France, on September 4th, 2022 and sail solo, non-stop around the world, via the five Great Capes and return to Les Sables-d’Olonne.

The journey is anything but simple.

Hear why Ian took on this incredible challenge in his own words.
