Nice big bag

Much more easier to store. The south western happens to be my favorite. If it wasn't for me prepping I would order the cans and eat. It would be a staple in our home. As soon as I tasted it I wanted to order more and start eating it on the regular. It has a little kick of heat to it which I love.

Very happy they started selling it in this bag. I hope they come out with a set deal like the cans. How the cans come in 6 maybe they can offer this in 3s, 5s or 4s. My second favorite is the hearty lasagna.

I hope to store this outside in my shed. I live in a place that is know for earthquakes so I like the thought that it can fall down and not dent like the can. I Also live in a small home which makes prepping hard so I love the space saving. I love that it's not metal so it won't rust.

This bag has a zip lock to it which is great. It doesn't feel light at all. Has a little weight to it. If you pick up with one hand you can feel the weight if with both hands not so much. The bags feel very strong. For sure ordering more and adding to my to go bag.

In my picture I tried to give a good idea of the size of the bag. Which I guess doesn't matter. The singles of the southwestern has more in the pack and chocolate grain has way less but when you pour it out to eat you can see why. So if any bags don't seem as full don't let it get you down. It's for a reason.

Versatile & Convenient

Preperation was quick & easy. Pleasantly surprised by the beans with a hint of spice. Certainly a moral boast if caught in an unpleasant situation.
I share this company's philosophy and their meals meet my needs for emergency preparedness

I have tried the Southwest Medley previously and liked it best of all the offerings

I have tried the Southwest Medley previously and liked it best of all the offerings. I chose to order more because of the nutrition in a smaller package that allows better use for survival kits.

Hi Dan, we're so glad you enjoyed the Southwestern Medley! Thanks for your support and happy prepping!

Great flavor! Highly recommend

Bought this quite a while ago and never tried it. Took some on a recent camping trip and WOW. Really good! The flavor is great with just enough spice I didn't need my always present hot sauce.

Pretty good. Let it soak up longer, add a little more water, and reheat. Add some onions, tomatoes, peppers, sour cream.

Thanks for the review and the suggestions! I like to add some shredded chicken, fresh jalapenos, and wrap it in a tortilla.

At the last few minutes, add this to a recipe

I cook in a tiny rice cooker (Dash). Kettle and Fire bone broth, add maybe an Omaha Steak small defatted chicken thigh still frozen, cut the chicken with scissors when it's done, add dried kale, some chicken broth that's not heated, and the contents of this Medley. Immensely satisfying meal.

That sounds amazing, Emily! I've got to try it!

Good

Good, felt very nourishing but really needs some hot sauce or something to remedy a bit of dryness in texture. Overall decent

Thanks, Steven! I like to add a little salt and pepper, some shredded chicken, hot sauce, and wrap it up in a tortilla.

Southwestern Medley

Very tasty. I’m not much of a meat eater because eating meat wrecks havoc on my joints, but my husband is so adding meat to this for him makes it a win win for us both. I love that Nutrient Survival’s food isn’t loaded with sodium and/or sugar. People can season to their own taste.

Thanks for the great review, Pamela!

It's good.

It's good but not great. I found it a little bland, but I do like a lot of flavor and spice. I found the texture to be a little waxy. That being said a little Tony Chachere's and some cut up smoked sausage and I was looking for 2nds.

Acceptable

Water amount is accurate. Taste is okay. Believe it or not better with worcestershire sauce rather than hot sauce. The beans don't fully get soft (mainly the pintos I think), even leaving it sitting for up to 15 minutes. They aren't hard, but have a weird kind of almost dry soft feel to them. Certainly edible all the same. Does the job of filling you up, not surprising for rice and beans.

Thanks for the review, James! I've found it rehydrates best when adding a little less boiling water than required, stirring and covering for 5 minutes, adding a little more water than what's left to be added, stirring and covering for another 5 minutes.
