Why #10 cans

The backbone of a real food supply.

#10 cans are how serious food storage is done: sealed, oxygen-free and stackable, with up to a 25-year shelf life. Ours are real food fortified with essential nutrients: breakfasts, complete meals, freeze-dried fruit and vegetables, and staples like powdered eggs, milk and butter. Start with the basics, then build out.

#10 can FAQ

What is a #10 can?

A #10 can is the standard long-term storage size: about 6" wide and 7" tall, roughly a gallon. It holds many servings in one sealed, oxygen-free package.

How long do #10 cans last?

Up to 25 years unopened when stored cool and dry (Powdered Vitamin Butter is 10 years). Once opened, use the food within a year and keep the lid on.

Should I buy single cans or 6-can cases?

Single cans let you try a food or fill a gap. A 6-can case of one food is the way to stock up, and most cases cost less than six singles. Mix foods with the build-your-own case.

Do I need anything to prepare them?

Water. Powders mix cold; breakfasts and meals use boiling water and are ready in a few minutes. Freeze-dried fruit and vegetables can be eaten straight from the can or rehydrated in a few minutes of water.
