Why Someone Wrote "Perfect"
Can I share a quick story with you?
I took this photo this morning as I was the walking the floor doing my rounds. It was small but telling.
One of our team members had written the word “Perfect” on the side of a pallet tray filled with product they'd just finished making.
No marketing meeting. No one asked them to do it. Just a quiet moment where someone looked at a finished run of product and felt good enough about it to write that word down.
That pretty much sums up how we think about our work here.
We don’t chase perfection because we think we can always achieve it. We chase it because it's what you deserve. It keeps us paying attention to the details — the ingredients, the nutrition, the taste, the consistency, the packaging — even when no one’s watching.
We make our food start to finish under one roof here in Reno-Tahoe. That means the people preparing, cooking, freeze-drying, packaging, and shipping are all part of the same team. When something’s off, we know it. When something’s right, we take pride in it.
We don’t use shortcuts. We don’t use artificial colors, flavors, sweeteners, or preservatives. And we don’t believe “good enough” is good enough when it comes to feeding people — whether that food is for everyday life or uncertain times.
Most days, striving for perfection looks pretty unglamorous. It’s re-checking a batch. Adjusting a process. Taping a box closed with an extra strip. Holding a higher bar than anyone would notice from the outside.
And every once in a while, it looks like a word scribbled on a box by someone who really, really cares.
